Mark Leach joined SmartSynch in November of 2008 to lead the company’s Smart Grid Solutions team.

Prior to joining SmartSynch, Mr. Leach was cofounder of Applied Mesh Technologies, a provider of public-wireless communications technology. He was also founder of Leach Industries, a company that specialized in communications and automation solutions for the utility industry, later sold to AMRON Technologies.

He has served in key engineering roles within the utility industry, including Engineering Supervisor at Central Georgia Electric Membership Corporation in Jackson, Georgia, and later as Engineering Manager at Tri-County Electric Membership Corporation in Gray, Georgia. In these positions, he worked in distribution design, substation maintenance, metering, communications, SCADA, load control and system planning. He has also worked as a robotics engineer for YKK International.

Mr. Leach graduated from Southern College of Technology (now Southern Polytechnic State University) in Marietta, Georgia, with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. While a student at Southern Tech, he worked in power generation for Georgia Power Company.
